JNF Touch to Open motorized magnetic mortise lock – Backset 55 mm

The JNF IN.20.860 Touch to Open is a motorized magnetic mortise lock for single-leaf wooden interior doors. The special feature of this system is that the door is opened electronically simply by touching a suitable JNF door handle or doorknob.

When the handle is touched by hand, the integrated motor automatically retracts the magnetic latch . The magnetic attraction between the latch and the strike plate is thereby released by the motor, after which the door can be pulled or pushed open.

When closing the door, the latch is pulled out of the lock by the magnetic strike plate and engages with the strike plate. In this way, the system combines a magnetic lock with electronic Touch to Open operation.

The lock operates entirely on 4 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries . As a result, no fixed electrical connection is required to power the lock. When the batteries are running low, the system emits an audible warning signal. The lock then retracts the latch to prevent the door from becoming blocked by dead batteries.

The IN.20.860 has a backset of 55 mm . The faceplate measures 235 x 20 x 3 mm and has rounded ends. The included magnetic strike plate measures 120 x 20 mm. The lock is manufactured from EN 1.4301 (AISI 304) stainless steel and has a satin finish.

The system has been developed for single-leaf wooden interior doors with a door weight of up to 100 kg . It is not intended for use in combination with steel frames.
